Small Groups

Acts 2 tells us that the early church met corporately in the temple and in smaller groups, from house to house. Formal and informal gatherings are essential for the life of any church and any Christian. “Small groups” (i.e. cell groups, etc.) are not a new idea. They have always played a vital role in how God grows His people to maturity in Christ. Two key verses summarise why we are so passionate about small groups at Honeyridge.

Heb 3:13, “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
Heb 10:24-25, “And lets us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Unless you want to be a deceived, discouraged Christian in danger or falling away, you must find mid-week fellowship with other believers. Small groups at Honeyridge are a perfect way to:
Be fed from God’s Word and understand scripture better; connect more deeply with other believers and as families (across the generations); counsel and care for another; use your spiritual gifts; sing and pray together; reach out together to the needy and the lost. We want to be not merely a church with small groups, but a church of small groups.
